Team Development Sprint
Provided by Chantal Schmelz
Building and maintaining a strong, healthy team requires a lot of dedication. The task becomes even more delicate once several teams are required to collaborate, and co-create to achieve joint goals.
Starting by building an understanding and appreciation for the different personalities and skill sets at the table is crucial to thus being able to discover underlying issues, challenges, and obstacles – without it becoming a blame game.
That’s why the Team Sprint starts with exercises that showcase the value of diverse perspectives and skills. Also allowing everyone to get to know each other from a different angle.
After having laid this crucial basis, it is time to start to dive deep into the challenges your teams face while collaborating and how these are perceived individually by every team member with the help of LEGO® Serious Play®. This method allows for maximum and equal individual contribution and thus leads to true joint understandings of any kind of topic. All this, while allowing for plenty of laughter.
Once the challenges will have been framed clearly, tools from the classic Design Sprint 2.0 will help the team generate ideas on how to solve these in the future and derive ways how their ideal, future collaboration will look like. Getting done with a concrete action plan for the next days, weeks, and months to come that everyone can commit to.
